Since 1999, Renovation Alliance has been bringing volunteers and communities together to rebuild safe and healthy homes for persons in need in the Roanoke Valley.

Our Mission

Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.

What We Do

  • Critical and necessary home repairs, free of charge to homeowners in need

  • Service area: Cities of Roanoke and Salem, counties of Roanoke, Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, and Franklin

  • Characteristics of homeowners served in 2023:

    • 77% of the homeowners served were 60 years of age and older

    • 22% of homeowners served were Veterans or surviving partners

    • 63% of homeowners served were living with a disability

    • The average gross annual household income of those served is approximately $22,000

    • Renovation Alliance completed 209 critical and necessary home repairs on 82 homes in the Roanoke Valley

    • The average length of time a homeowner served by the organization had owned their home was 18 years

    • Renovation Alliance invested on average $5,283 in home repairs per home
