Organization Information
What is your mission?
The mission of Renovation Alliance is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners in need. We work to preserve and revitalize houses and communities, ensuring that low-income homeowners – particularly older adults, individuals with disabilities, families with children, and active or retired members of the armed services – can live independently in homes that are safe and healthy.
Who sponsors Renovation Alliance?
Our funds come from generous individuals, corporations, foundations, civic organizations and faith-based organizations that are interested in helping to rehabilitate homes and stabilize neighborhoods.
Renovation Alliance manages its own fundraising, publicity, volunteer recruitment, and repair projects. Funds raised in the Roanoke Valley go directly to supporting projects in our service area- Cities of Roanoke and Salem and the Counties of Roanoke, Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, and Franklin.
Renovation Alliance is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization supported by voluntary contributions of time and money. Every dollar given is spent wisely and is an investment in building a better Roanoke Valley.

How are projects selected?
Projects are selected through an application process. Applications can be obtained by clicking here or by calling our office at (540) 400-0959. Completed applications are submitted to Renovation Alliance, where they are reviewed for eligibility by our board and staff. Once minimum qualifications are verified, staff and board members complete a home review. Qualified projects are matched with volunteer teams as funding allows.
Homeowner applicants must own or make mortgage payments on the home for which they are applying; reside in the home full time; have lived in the home for a minimum of two years; and be up-to-date with tax payments. The household income must be at or below 80% of area median income. Determination is based on household size and takes into account the annual income of all household members 18 years or older and/or any TANF benefits received. 80% of area median income for Roanoke City is $62,700 for a family of four.
Do homeowners pay for their repairs?
All repairs are completed at no charge to qualified homeowners. Labor and many supplies are donated. Homeowners, and their families and friends, are asked to welcome the volunteers into their homes and work alongside them to the extent they are able.

Getting Involved
How can I help?
Sponsor a Renovation Project
As a sponsor of Renovation Alliance, you will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that your resources are matched with those of the community to provide at least $4 worth of community value for every dollar you invest. Sponsors have an opportunity to bring employees/organization members together for a unique team-building experience while making a difference in the lives of low-income homeowners. Projects are identified in areas that match the sponsor’s location or interests and the skill set of the volunteer teams. Skilled trade people are recruited as needed. For information, please contact info@RenovateAll.org or call (540) 400-0959.
A full House Sponsorship is $2,800 and includes all project materials and lunches and t-shirts for all volunteers. Renovation Alliance will also provide a yard sign featuring your group’s logo and/or title to display at the project site. Remember, RA is able to turn every $1 into a $4 value so your donation of $2,800 will actually generate a minimum of $11,000 worth of good in your community.
Volunteer with Us
Skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled volunteers are welcomed to provide home repair services throughout the year.
